Accommodation Insufficiency- eye focusing muscles weakness
A 31 years old Chinese man complained of left eye pain which transmitted to left temporal headache for several months.
He felt his car tends to sway to one side each time he drives the car. The condition gets worse and he feels vertigo in crowd, whether he is in shopping mall or in street.
He went for a series of medical check up and no significant abnormalities were found.
On examination, patient has perfect eyesight 1.2 in each eye. Further examination, patient has +1.00 DS hyperope on each eye. Accommodation is much reduced and is unequal, with RE 6 D and LE 3.75 D.
With a correct prescription of glasses and accommodation exercise, all his signs and symptoms disappear completely in a short duration of Vision Therapy.
